The Rider

Sam Hill

Sam Hill is one of the most decorated mountain bikers in history, an 8x World Champion in Enduro and Downhill with over 20 years competing at the highest level across 30+ countries. His career has taken him to the most demanding courses on every continent, giving him an intimate understanding of what makes a trail truly exceptional.

Now, Sam is applying that experience across the full lifecycle of trail development, from site assessment and concept design through to construction supervision and final sign-off. Every project carries Sam's name. Every trail is built to a standard he'd be willing to race on.

The Construction Expertise

Dave du Plessis

Dave leads operations and site supervision for Sam Hill Signature Trail. With 18+ years of hands-on trail delivery across Australia and New Zealand, he is one of the most experienced trail builders and machine operators in the field.

Dave has played a central role in multiple environmentally and culturally sensitive trail projects, working with strict dieback hygiene compliance, buffer zone management around rare flora, and precision excavation in corridors as narrow as 900mm. When the work is on the ground, Dave is on the ground.

The Environmental Expert

Lukas Baker

Lukas brings 16+ years of experience in environmental and operational management, with a specialised focus on forestry, cultural and ecological compliance, and GIS mapping. He holds a Diploma in Forest and Forest Products and has led diverse projects across Western Australia.

His strengths lie in bridging field operations with regulatory and ecological standards, particularly integrating cultural heritage considerations and dieback hygiene requirements into active construction programs. Every site is left better than it was found.
